Low-Skew Video Twisted Pair Cables

Mohawk’s low-skew video twisted pair cables are a proven cost-effective alternative to coax for RGB video applications. These cable were developed in response to the increasing digital signage applications for marketing and advertising. Low skew video cables work exceptionally well in the digital signage environment due to the enhanced design that allows them to deliver all of the parts of the image being transmitted to arrive at the receiver at virtually the same time, which ensures the clearest image on the receiving monitor. This also allows the transmission to be carried over lengths of up to 2,000 feet, much longer than standard style RGB type coax.

Spectrum® Cable

With fast growing applications such as digital signage and in-studio video monitoring becoming mainstream, Mohawk has developed an unshielded twisted pair cable as an alternative to coax for RGB or component-style video broadcasts. The cable consists of a standard "Category" style design using four twisted pairs under one jacket. This allows the cables to be smaller than the standard style coax type cables that have been traditionally used for RGB applications. The design also keeps the costs down over the standard RGB cables due to the ease of installation and the familiarity contractors have with this type of cabling and its connectivity.

Benefits and Features

  • Supports longer cable runs than currently available with coax or data cables

  • Has a smaller outside diameter than coax

  • Can be hidden via plenums or in walls

  • Made with 23 AWG solid copper cable

  • Plenum and Non-Plenum cables are C(UL)US or C(ETL)US listed as either plenum (CMP) or riser (CMR) applications

  • These cables and/or their manufacture are covered by patents. See www.belden.com/p for details.

Spectrum® Indoor/Outdoor Cable

Mohawk’s Spectrum Indoor/Outdoor low-skew video twisted pair cable is a proven cost-effective alternative to coax for RGB video applications. This cable begins with Mohawk's Spectrum design of four twisted pairs under one jacket. The cable is then enhanced with a water-blocked design and a black sunlight-resistant jacket. The advanced design allows the low skew cable to be installed in flood-prone indoor locations, outdoor duct locations or an outdoor location run directly to a single floor application where standard cable fails. The product is suitable for outdoor applications in addition to running inside a building.

Benefits and Features

  • Supports longer cable runs than currently available with coax or data cables

  • Has an outside diameter of .250"

  • Made with 23 AWG solid copper cable

  • Listed by Underwriters Laboratories as UL (USA), cUL (Canada) CM-LS

  • These cables and/or their manufacture are covered by patents. See www.belden.com/p for details.
