MegaLAN F/UTP is tested to 400 MHz and is ETL verified to Category 5e. This cable comes in a screened twisted pair design, consisting of an overall tape/drain shield. MegaLAN is engineered for future applications where cabling is to be installed in a high external noise location. This could be in the path of radar or next to a telecomm or a broadcast transmission point. Or is security an issue? When quality cable is properly installed, grounded, and tested, shielded cable provides measurably lower RF emissions.

Because even a small amount of moisture or water in the cable will degrade the electrical performance of a Category cable, Mohawk's LAN-Trak OSP cables are designed for exposure to the elements. Jacketed with a black UV-resistant polyethylene, they employ a craft-friendly semi-dry flooding material that cleans easily from the cable core. Traditional petroleum-based gels such as "icky-pick" result in hard-to-clean and time-consuming cable prep time. This thixotropic gel has a dry, soft texture that is dermally safe and cleans easily with citrus-based cleaners. The result is faster cable prep time, quicker clean-ups and happier technicians.
25 year Warranty (available with MAC program)
Available in both F/UTP and UTP
Both versions are made for use in horizontal cabling systems as described in ANSI/TIA-568-C, and exceed ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 5e and ISO/IEC 11801 Category 5 electrical characteristics
They are suitable for outdoor use in duct and for aerial lashing; the F/UTP cable is also suitable for direct burial
This cable and/or its manufacture are covered by patents. See www.belden.com/p for details.
