CAT 3 Cables

Mohawk’s Category 3 cables come in both shielded and unshielded versions. They all meet ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 3 requirements and are available in a variety of jacket colors.

CAT 3 Cable

Category 3 cable for use in horizontal cabling systems. The cable consists of #24 AWG solid bare copper insulated conductors, assembled into four twisted pairs, with a ripcord, under an overall jacket. This cable and/or its manufacture are covered by patents. See www.belden.com/p for details.

Benefits and Features

Plenum
  • For use in air handling ducts and spaces in accordance with Article 800 of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • This cable is UL (USA) & cUL (Canada) listed for this application by passing NFPA 262 (FT6 or previously UL 910 Steiner Tunnel) test

Non-plenum
  • For use as a vertical run in a shaft and for general purpose communications use in accordance with Article 800 of the NEC

  • This cable is ETL (USA) & cETL (Canada) listed for this application by passing the UL 1666 Riser Cable Flammability Test

  • Also passes the CSA FT4 Vertical Flame Test - Cables in Cable Trough from clause 4.11.4 of CSA C22.2 No. 0.3

CAT 3 High Pair Count Backbone Cable

Unshielded twisted pair (UTP) category 3 cable for use in backbone cabling systems as described in ANSI/TIA-568-C. The cable consists of #24 AWG solid bare copper insulated conductors, assembled into twisted pairs, with a ripcord, under an overall jacket. This cable and/or its manufacture are covered by patents.
