Mohawk Announces the Release of Reduced OD ON GigaLAN 10

Leominster, MA, September 2007: Mohawk, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic and copper cable products, announces the release of their redesigned GigaLAN 10 with a reduced outside diameter of 0.295”, which rivals today’s Category 6A shielded cables. This reduced OD offers enhanced flexibility and installation ease into conduit, and also allows increased conduit and tray capacity. The reduced OD design also improves the product’s bend radius from 1.3” to 1.25”, which creates easier installation solutions for closets and work station outlets.

GigaLAN 10 offers a cost-effective solution for high bandwidth applications from desktop to data centers. The newly designed FlexWeb®, combined with a patented fluted jacket construction, isolates cable pairs and offers outstanding pair-to-pair balance for superior headroom. Mohawk’s GigaLAN 10 is the highest performance Category 6A UTP cable. Designed specifically for 10GBASE-T applications, it is also fully backward compatible for 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T applications. The cable design exceeds specified component stipulations of the TIA Augmented Category 6 proposed standard which provides an added measure of performance. GigaLAN 10 is secured by Mohawk’s Open Architecture Solutions Warranty.
