Augmented Category 6 Cables

In February 2008, TIA ratified the Category 6A standard. This standard, known as TIA 568-B.2-10, sets forth the requirements necessary for enhanced performance of Augmented Category 6 (Cat 6A) cables. The standard extends the frequency of Cat 6A cables to 500 MHz, requires Cat 6A cables to support up to 100 meters, and adds new requirements for Alien Crosstalk. Cat 6A cables can support future 10Gbit/s applications on a 4-connector channel. Category 6A cables are fully backward compatible with all the previous categories, including Category 6, 5e and 5.

Mohawk’s line of Augmented Category 6 cables meet all the TIA 568-B.2-10 requirements. Our unshielded Augmented Category 6 cables come in a variety of jacket colors in both plenum and riser versions.
